JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and more
Photos taken on iPhone or iPad are saved as HEIC (HEIF) by default. The files are lightweight but won’t open in Windows Explorer, older apps, or many web upload forms — which is often frustrating. Converting to JPG means it opens anywhere and sharing becomes much easier. The conversion happens entirely in your browser; your photos never leave your device.
How to use it
- 1Drag in the HEIC photo from your iPhone, or click to upload it.
- 2Make sure the output format is set to JPG. (JPG is the default on this page.)
- 3Adjust the quality slider to your liking. Around 85% gives near-lossless results.
- 4Press Convert and your JPG file is ready. Hit Download to save — done!
Handy tips
- Converting from HEIC to JPG involves some re-encoding. If you’re printing or archiving, set quality to 90% or higher.
- If you export an iPhone Live Photo as HEIC, only the still frame (the photo) is saved — the video clip is not included.
- For multiple photos, upload and save them one at a time. It’s quick to repeat per file.
Frequently asked questions
HEIC is an Apple-adopted HEIF-based format that many Windows apps and older software can’t open because they lack the codec. Converting to JPG means it opens instantly on any device or app.
HEIC→JPG requires re-encoding because the formats differ. At 80% quality or above, the difference is hard to see. If you need a pixel-perfect match to the original, keep the original HEIC separately.
For now, it processes one at a time. For multiple photos, save one and then upload the next, repeating the same steps.
No, the original stays as is. You receive only the new converted JPG, and all processing happens on your device — nothing leaves it.
