Upscale uses AI to double the resolution of small or blurry images, making them sharper and more detailed. Whether it's an old photo, a tiny profile picture, or a low-resolution screenshot, this tool breathes new life into images that aren't quite good enough to use at full size. All processing happens inside your browser — the file is never sent to a server.

How to use it

  1. 1Drop or click to upload your image. (longest side must be 2000px or less)
  2. 2Press "Upscale 2x" and the AI will double the resolution.
  3. 3Drag the Before/After slider left and right to compare the original with the result.
  4. 4Happy with the result? Save it as a lossless PNG.

Handy tips

  • The first run downloads the AI model, so it takes a moment. After that it is cached in your browser and runs much faster.
  • Very blurry or heavily noisy originals have limits. You get the best results from images that are small but still reasonably sharp.
  • The result is saved as lossless PNG, so every detail the AI recovered is preserved.

Frequently asked questions

No. Upscaling runs 100% inside your browser and the image file is never transmitted anywhere. Only the AI model file is downloaded once on first use.

The scale is fixed at 2x. For example, an 800x600 image becomes 1600x1200.

AI upscaling is memory-intensive, and very large images can slow down or crash the process. Limiting the longest side to 2000px keeps processing stable and reliable.

The result is saved as lossless PNG to preserve every detail the AI added.
